Ayr Farmhouse

Ayr Farmhouse is a gorgeous, family-friendly holiday rental, perfect for a special getaway on the north coast of Cornwall. It sleeps up to 7 guests in 4 bedrooms, and it’s dog-friendly too!

Situated only 150 metres from the golden sands and surf of Porthmeor Beach, this unique granite farmhouse has been a much-loved member of our family for more than 150 years.

You will love the large, secluded garden at this property, which is ideal for children (and dogs). You’re also within easy walking distance of art galleries, the harbour and the countless other activities and attractions on offer in St Ives.

Ground floor

This quirky property has a lounge, kitchen, dining room, shower room and partly covered courtyard on the ground floor.

Step through the porch to the hallway and you’ll find the welcoming lounge, with wood burning stove, on your left-hand side. The dining room is on the right, followed by the kitchen at the back of the house. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need on your self-catering holiday in St Ives, including a range cooker, stylish Belfast sink, American fridge freezer and ample pots, pans, crockery and cutlery for all seven guests.

There’s a dishwasher as well. But in this house, you can leave the washing up till the morning, shut the door on the mess and relax in front of the TV in the separate living room. The house has its own Netflix account, so there’s plenty of opportunity to catch up on your favourite boxset. And there is unlimited superfast broadband for you to keep in touch with all your social channels.

From the kitchen, the back door leads to a partly covered courtyard where you’ll find a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a shower room (shower, basin, and WC). This shower room comes in handy after a day at the beach to wash away the sand.

You’ll find all four bedrooms on the first floor, along with another bathroom.

The master bedroom has a super king-size bed and glorious views over the rooftops across St Ives Bay. Throw open the window to inhale the fresh sea air and listen to the sound of the surf as you drift off to sleep. There are three further bedrooms – all with smart TVs. One of the bedrooms has two zip and link 3ft single beds. This room can either be set up as a twin room, or the beds can be joined to provide a second super king-size bed, should you prefer. There’s a further king-size bedroom and a fourth bedroom with a 3ft single bed.

This dog-friendly holiday cottage also accepts one dog. We ask you to please keep dogs off the beds and sofas, and don’t leave them home alone. This part of Cornwall is a great area to take your dogs on holiday, with lots of exciting walks to go on and numerous dog-friendly cafes and restaurants, so there’s no need to leave your four-legged friend at home.

During school holidays, this property lets on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday.

This is a special house, both inside and out. It has a large, secluded garden and plenty of parking. The garden has a decked area where you can sit and enjoy the last sun of the day, with a beer or your tipple of choice. There’s a BBQ and several seating areas, with lawn, bamboo and palm trees giving it a tropical feel. It’s perfect for children to explore and play in. If you can tear yourself away from the garden oasis, you are a 2-minute walk to one of St Ives’ most popular beaches (Porthmeor) and the Tate St Ives gallery. It’s also a mere 10-minute walk to the harbour and many of the historic town’s top attractions. So, once you’ve arrived, parked and unloaded the car, you won’t need it again until it’s time to go home.

There is parking for 3 cars.
