Chy Lowen

If you’re looking for a large holiday cottage in Cornwall, close to the sea with breath-taking views and lots to do nearby, Chy Lowen is perfect. This stunning 5-bedroom luxury holiday cottage sleeps up to 10 guests and is ideal for family holidays, getting together with a group of friends or celebrating a special occasion or anniversary. It is idyllically located looking out across St Ives Bay, to The Island, Godrevey Lighthouse and beyond.

The stylish design includes floor to ceiling glass windows and bifold doors at the front of the house where the light pours through all day long.
So even on during the winter months you can see the sun rise over the bay or watch the waves roll in from the Atlantic when it storms.

It’s only a 10-15 minute walk down to Porthmeor Beach and the vast array of restaurants and shops to explore in St Ives too.

Ground Floor

The ground floor has spacious open plan living with a kitchen, dining and lounge area. You’ll find everything you’ll need throughout your self-catering holiday in the well-equipped kitchen. Plenty of cutlery, crockery, glassware, pots, pans and utensils. There’s even a Tassimo coffee machine for the caffeine lovers in your group. The American-style ice-making fridge-freezer has plenty of space for all your supplies and there’s a Neff oven and Neff combination oven/microwave and induction hob to prepare your snacks and meals. There are two dishwashers – one in the kitchen and an extra one in the utility room, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

There is ample space around the dining table for everyone to sit and eat together – as well as an outside dining table and chairs.

In the lounge area there are cosy sofas to curl up on and a wood burner to keep you warm and toasty during the colder months. The HD Projector with a drop-down screen and a surround sound system is perfect for watching movies together. You can use the house Netflix account. There’s a wireless Blue Sonos system plus additional 2 Bluetooth portable speakers too. So you can sit back and play your favourite music and watch the waves roll into the bay below. What better way to relax!

The superfast unlimited broadband throughout means you can stay connected and younger members of the group can carry on gaming during some downtime. If they want to.

The vast bifold doors across the front of Chy Lowen lead out onto the decking overlooking the sea. There’s a table and chairs, BBQ, 6 person hot tub and plenty of space to enjoy some outdoor living whilst you’re here.

As well as a downstairs shower room, there’s a ground floor bedroom at the rear of the house too. It has a zip and link super king-size bed (which can be made into two singles) and an ensuite shower room. So if someone in your group wakes early and enjoys watching the sun come up whilst the rest of the house is asleep, this room is perfect.

Upstairs

Four more bedrooms are on the first floor – each of them with a TV. They all have sliding doors leading onto the balcony which has the most amazing sea views. So you can enjoy leisurely mornings sipping your hot drink and watching the waves roll in. Or escape to your room to enjoy some quiet time away from the group to read a book or catch up on your favourite TV programme.

The master bedroom has a super king-size bed with an ensuite bathroom with a bath and separate shower unit. Two of the bedrooms have a 6ft zip and link bed (which can be made into two singles) and the fourth bedroom has a 4ft 6 double bed.

There is a family bathroom on the first floor as well (with a bath and shower). Plus a fourth shower room on the ground floor.

What makes Chy Lowen as good a choice for family holidays as it is for time away with a group of friends is the flexibility of the bed arrangements. Having three bedrooms with zip and link beds means that you can choose to have:

  • 3 twin rooms (two upstairs and one downstairs), one double bed and one super king-size
  • 4 super king-size beds and one double
  • or a combination of these options.

Whatever you choose, all of the beds will be made up with quality bedding to help you enjoy a good night’s sleep throughout your holiday. Towels are also provided for use in the house, but please remember to bring beach towels with you.

During peak season/school holidays Chy Lowen lets Friday to Friday. It is also suited more to weekend breaks out of main holiday periods.

Outside

The spacious decking area with views across St Ives Bay is what makes Chy Lowen extra special. Easily accessed via the bifold doors from the open space living area, on sunny days you can open them up and bring the outside in. There’s a gas BBQ so you can cook some scrumptious snacks and burgers to enjoy and carry on the beach vibe when you return to Chy Lowen. There’s plenty of seating for everyone and even a 6 person hot tub (and a warm outdoor shower) to relax in under the stars at night. What are you waiting for?

Chy Lowen has parking for 4 cars as well as a free electric vehicle charging point.
