Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is a beautifully renovated, dog-friendly holiday house within a stone’s throw of Porthmeor Beach. Sleeping up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, Rose Cottage is perfect for family holidays or getaways with friends.

This cottage was once a farm building to the next-door farmhouse (Ayr Farmhouse, which we still own). The cottage retains all its original charm but has been fully modernised to provide everything you need for your self-catering stay in Cornwall.

Outside, you’ll find a secure, private decked area from which to enjoy the sun and the sound of the surf. Plus, you’re only a 2-minute walk to the beach and all the natural beauty and amenities on offer in St Ives.

Ground floor

The lounge, kitchen and dining area are all on the ground floor.

Upon entering the cottage, the lounge with wood burning stove is to the right, while the open plan kitchen/dining area is to the left. The lounge has ample seating for everyone to relax and catch-up or watch TV – the cottage even has its own Netflix account so you can keep up with your favourite shows. The cottage has superfast broadband, so there’s no need to switch off from the rest of the world if you don’t want to.

When it’s your turn to cook, you’ll find everything you need in the fully equipped kitchen. There’s a beautiful range cooker, fridge freezer and microwave, and the dining area has space for everyone to eat together. There’s also a dishwasher and a washer/dryer to take care of the chores for you.

The three bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the first floor. All bedrooms have smart TVs.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed and an ensuite bathroom (with a shower over the bath), WC and basin. The second bedroom with a superking-size zip and link beds, which can be split into 2 singles, if preferred. Whilst the third bedroom has 2 single beds. This flexibility makes this house ideal for families with children.

All our bedding is of the highest quality, designed to give you a great night’s sleep – and beds will be made up for you. We also provide towels for use in the house, so you only need to bring beach towels.

There’s also a second shower room on the first floor.

Rose Cottage is a dog-friendly holiday home, so there’s no need to leave anyone at home. The cottage has space for one dog. Dogs are not allowed on the sofas or beds – and please don’t leave them alone in the cottage.

During peak weeks, this cottage lets on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis.

Outside, the secure, gated decked area is a lovely sun trap from morning until the late afternoon. It’s private and gated, making it the ideal spot for kids and dogs to play. There’s a BBQ and space for an al fresco feast, or drinks and nibbles. Rose Cottage is also perfectly placed to enjoy the surf of Porthmeor Beach – it’s a short, 2-minute walk from here (no need to jostle for a parking space to get a prime spot on the sands). Porthmeor is just one of many blue flag beaches you can explore in and around St Ives. It’s not just the golden sands and turquoise waters that keep holidaymakers coming back to St Ives, however – the town is well known for its art and visitors can explore numerous art galleries and museums, including the Tate St Ives.

There is parking for 2 medium-sized cars or 1 large car.

A charming coastal haven

With so much to see and do in and around St Ives, it’s no surprise people return here time and time again.

This beautiful part of the world has some amazing beaches with crystal-clear waters. So you could start your day with a stroll along the shoreline, then relax on the beach or enjoy some thrilling water sports. Just a little bit back from the beach are the narrow-cobbled streets where you’ll discover charming boutiques, quirky cafes and traditional pubs perfect for a spot of refreshment. We’ve got lots to offer. From traditional Cornish pasties to Michelin-starred dining experiences, there’s something to satisfy all tastes.

It’s home to the Tate St Ives and many other galleries too. Local artists draw inspiration from the surrounding landscapes and the exceptional light quality the area is known for. Then there’s the iconic landmarks and museums as well as the atmospheric moors to explore further inland.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family holiday, or a solo adventure, St Ives caters to all your needs.
